EMDR for myself
As a Therapist and Client
EMDR treatment has changed my life, both as a therapist and as a patient. I started my basic training in 2018 and afterwards I immediately started to use this modality with my clients. I noticed my clients progressed much faster in treatment compared to talk therapy. There was also a sense of comfortability using this form therapy. It resonates with me. And for that reason I stayed in a consultation group for years to tailor my craft as an EMDR therapist.
In 2020, I experienced a tragedy in my life, a significant loss. I was devastated by it. And I worked with an EMDR therapist to process this loss in my life. The treatment was intense, but very successful. I noticed a reduction in symptoms related to grief, my mood elevated, and there was a sense of hope again.
Once I got back into a normal routine I was back to working on myself as a trauma therapist. In 2024 I became a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA. I spent 2025 as a consultation in training. I attended the EMDRIA conference in Anaheim, California. In 2026, I will start training to become a co-facilitator with the Humanitarian Assistant Program.
This is a treatment I truly believe in and encourage you to explore. If you have experienced a traumatic event and want to have a discussion about how EMDR can help you, please message me
